Ah, stationery. Not just mundane office supplies, but portals to creativity and productivity. And like any true adventurer, I, a self-proclaimed stationery nerd, have embarked on a glorious quest: the hunt for the ideal pen-and-paper combo.
My journey has been a whirlwind of inks, nibs dancing from extra-fine to bold, and paper weights.
Now, I wouldn’t call my handwriting exactly billboard-worthy. It’s more like a colony of industrious ants meticulously weaving their way across the page. This, my friends, is where the fine to extra-fine tip comes in. It’s like a trusty sherpa, guiding my microscopic script over the Himalayas of notebook lines.
And the pen of choice? The gel pen!
The Thrill of the Upgrade:
But the quest doesn’t stop at finding the perfect ink. The true treasure lies in customization, in transforming a good pen into a great one. Each one is a potential upgrade, a chance to elevate my writing experience to new heights.
So, fellow adventurers, join me on this quest! Share your own tales of penmanship, your ink-stained victories, and the notebooks that hold your dreams. Together, let’s write our own epic sagas, one perfectly placed letter at a time.
P.S. Don’t forget to stock up on your own trusty companions! Here are some of my current favorites:
I enjoy reading and read quite a few audiobooks during my commute (shoutout to those with a playback speed of 1.5x or higher). I have to rotate genres or I get tired of one type of book. Variety is what keeps reading exciting for me.
Here are a few of the best books that I read in 2023 with Project Hail Mary being a refreshing read. I would encourage you to give audiobooks a try while you drive to work or take a walk. It helps reduce the stress of the drive when you are in the middle of a great chapter and aren’t in a hurry since you want to know how the chapter ends.
I was at a party recently and had this delicious drink that is perfect for the winter. In a highball glass or copper mug pour the following and enjoy.
Hey there, golf enthusiasts, life adventurers, armchair philosophers, and curious souls! Welcome to Tee Time Thoughts, a fresh slice of the internet served up with a healthy dose of perspective from this dad, golfer, and life-long learner pecking away at the keyboard.
It’s a new year and to continue where I left off last year, I am going to try new things that push me outside my comfort zone. There are many resources to consume content and I love to learn but have always been afraid to share my thoughts and perspectives. This site will push me outside my comfort zone where I will write about a wide variety of topics.
Let me set the scene. I’m no Tiger Woods, though I dream of chipping birdies just like him. I’m more of a weekend (or every third weekend) warrior navigating the fairways with my trusty (slightly dented) three-wood (2008 Taylormade Burner – they don’t make them like they used to) and a head full of thoughts that refuse to be silenced.
Those thoughts, my friends, are what inspired this little experiment. That’s where Tee Time Thoughts comes in. This isn’t a golf blog, per se. It’s a platform for sharing whatever nuggets of wisdom (or, let’s be real, amusement) emerge from my head between swings. You see, I spend my weekdays directing corporate teams – talent acquisition and marketing operations. It’s rewarding, sure, but let’s be honest, it can get a little… crazy. So, I take refuge in the open air of the golf course, where I can spend time with friends, the wildlife, and sometimes the trees looking for that wayward shot.
But here’s the thing. The time on the course sparks something more than just my competitive spirit. It gets me thinking about life, its twists and turns, its victories and mulligans. It gets me pondering sports (beyond that little white dimpled demon, of course), hobbies that keep me sane, and everything in between. As I navigate through the fairways of life, I’ll be sharing my thoughts on leadership, news headlines, parenting, video games, other hobbies, as well as random thoughts.
Think of it as eavesdropping on a conversation with a friend over beers after a round. No pressure, just honest reflections, sprinkled with humor (hopefully), and a dash of vulnerability (definitely).
So, grab a virtual drink, pull up a (figurative) stool, and join me on this journey. We’ll explore fairways and philosophies, dissect sports moments and life lessons.
AND NOW, ON THE FIRST TEE…..
Oh and one more thing. Feel free to leave comments, share your own stories, and join the conversation! I’m always up for a good debate (as long as we keep it friendly, of course).
